Leijia Village in Puman Town, Jiahe County is a traditional village in Southern Hunan. Villagers here live in perfect harmony, enjoying the beautiful scenery. It is on the list of the fifth batch of national traditional villages, and has been named the beautiful rural demonstration village, rural governance demonstration village and health village at the provincial level.
In recent years, Leijia Village has made efforts to promote the rural revitalization, striving to develop itself into a beautiful, livable and harmonious village.
After elections for a new term, young cadres of the village branch of the Party and the village committee have organized 51 Party members to carry out the Party Day theme activities including serving for the public, doing cleaning and responding to the COVID-19 pandemic.
They not only unite and lead the Party members and masses in voluntary service, but also promote the standardized, normalized and digital development of the Party building at the community level.
They have had a detailed understanding of the village affairs and situation and gained great achievements in responding to the COVID-19 pandemic, preventing the forest fire and protecting the food production.
In 2020, Leijia Village became a pilot area for the alley administration to promote autonomy and the rule of virtue and law, providing another available manner for rural governance. Leijia Village is divided into 35 alleys according to the housing layout with three ancient roads as the axis.
The cadres of the village committee, Party members, deputies of the NPC (the National People’s Congress), members of the CPPCC (the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference), local talents and volunteers can compete for the heads of alleys and fulfill different obligations like sanitation regulation, policy publicity and dispute mediation.
The heads should improve the living environment of the village, popularize the policies that are beneficial to the masses, and mediate the disputes so as to build a civilized and safe village.
Under the concept of the integration of agriculture and tourism, Leijia Village combines the tobacco, grain and medicine fields.
Next, it will further develop the traditional agriculture such as the tobacco leaves and grains to increase farmers’ income. Meanwhile, it will explore the modern agriculture and pay attention to the featured agriculture involving planting herbs for the traditional Chinese medicine. Besides, the village is going to discover the characteristics of the traditional village and protect the traditional buildings.
